IMMEDIATE PRESS RELEASE

Kiteboarders Catching Huge Air at Sauble Beach

August 31, 2010 (Sauble Beach, ON) – The 1st KiteJam at Sauble Beach is taking place from September 10th to 12th on Sauble Beach featuring a Kiteboarding competition including both amateur and pro international riders.  Kite Flying Demonstrations by clubs from all across Ontario and a Saturday night beach party featuring Tommy Gilham, Bruce Worthington and Exhale will make the excitement complete.

Kiteboarding is a sport that is quickly becoming very popular in Sauble Beach, a destination known as one of the world’s best. The shallow waters and high winds combine to create excellent conditions for riders enabling them to perform tricks and maneuvers in the air. Local kiteboarding  Instructor Daniel Medysky, who runs the KiteRider school and whose son Sam is Canada’s leading  International Pro rider, was instrumental in putting together the Kiteboarding competition in conjunction with the Sauble Beach Festival and Events office.

Kite flying demonstrations will be taking place all weekend on the beach by clubs from across Ontario, and will include some very impressive displays of skill and gear. The KiteJam is a free family event, continuing Sauble Beach’s string of free events for the 24 Weeks of Summer.

The Saturday night beach party will be a licensed event on the beach beginning at 7 PM and lasting until 11 PM. Bruce Worthington, an up and coming local artist will kick things off, followed by country rock recording artist Tommy Gilham, and the night will end with locals Exhale. It is going to be a party on the beach with free admission.

For more information, call the Festival & Events office at 519-422-2457, the Sauble Beach Information Centre at 519-422-1262, or Dan Medysky of KiteRider at 519-422-3962 or visit  www.kiterider.ca
